BEAUTY DISTILLED

This is a series of montages using images from fashion magazines. My aim was to instill a sense of timelessness into what were otherwise fleeting images of fashion in publications such as Vogue and Elle. It also raises questions as to how fashion images, rather than just clothes, could be recycled to have a longer lasting resonance. On the one hand, compressing different images into one, counteracts the overloading of fashion images by seeing more in one look, on the other hand, it creates a new image, although of a different nature. Fashion magazines set trends, whereas these images try to lift them out of the dictates of fashion and into the realm of beauty.
